Testimonials FROM SOME OF BARBARA’S STUDENTS
Barbara doesn’t just tell you what to do, but also “how” and “why” you are doing it. It’s important for her to connect with the horse mentally and have her students do the same. Shiree Sansone - Exton, Pa.
Barb has an uncanny intuition and a consistent ability to predict the behavior of both horse and rider. Her unique talent and experience directly translates into a greater horse sense and rider confidence. Jim Walsh - Phoenixville, Pa.
Twelve years ago I sent my now 17 year old gelding for "professional training" out of state and out of my control. He was returned to me with behavioral problems consisting of biting (behavior of choice), charging people/things, and kicking out. In the winter of 2007 I was privileged to take part in a very small seminar conducted by Barbara Rosoff. Barbara allowed me to see myself and most humans from the prospective of the horse. Many of my requests were extremely confusing to him; and therefore, a negative reaction occurred. Barbara came to my farm, met the horse, and instructed me on a number of ways I could get his attention via ground work, in a consistent, positive manner. He needed to focus on me, and me on him, and not everything else around us. His misbehaviors are less frequent and he is calmer and more agreeable towards the people working with him. I firmly believe that if it had not been for Barbara and her training methods, my much loved horse would have been sent out to retirement. I am grateful to Barbara that I am able to keep him with me for the rest of his days. Vonnie Steinbaum Wellington, FL
The first time my mare Tara and I met Barbara, we did so well I told her she must be a horse whisperer. She replied she preferred to listen to her horses. Our sessions since then have focused on me learning to do the same. Ann Powell
Before meeting Barbara, I had attended many clinics with well known trainers who practice natural horsemanship. Then I would go home to work with my horse and immediately run into trouble. Barbara give me practical advice and exercises I could do on my own. With horses everything means something and everyday I am able to see more. Thanks to Barbara I learned the devil is really in the details and I needed help with the details. Peggy Simon
Barbara is a great communicator with horses and people and she makes lessons fun. Her jokes help me relax when I get frustrated and remind me to enjoy the process. Being aware of your horse all the time can be really intense. Karen Nocella - Pottstown, Pa.
As an adult fulfilling a childhood dream, Barbara’s lessons have helped me overcome my fears as a new rider. By understanding horses in general, and Flash in particular, I feel confident and safe now, with safe being the operative term. With Barbara’s help, I am enjoying my dream. Maria Jacobs - Birchrunville, Pa.
Although I had always loved horses from afar, I had never actually touched one until a friend takled me into joining her at one of Barbara's clinics. I may never ride, but I had a great experience and lots of fun. They are truly amazing animals Laurie Wade - Bowie, Md.
My mare Lorelei had been out of work for 10 years when I met Barbara. At that point the mare had come after me in the pasture, and was a disaster for the vet and farrier. When Barbara first started working with her, Lorelei actually attacked her. Without using force of any kind, Barbara backed the mare off and went back to the lesson - learning to turn left and right. After working with us twice a week for six months, Lorelei is a different horse. We do ground work and ride (!) without aggressive behavior. Thanks to Barbara's patience, Lorelei and I have become partners who continue to make progress. Tina Nesmith - Gilbertsville, Pa.
When my husband decided that he wanted to share my passion for horses of course I wanted him to learn how to ride properly. My husband, a medically retired Army Captain, needed someone who understood how to work with an individual who had permanent physical problems due to past military injuries as well as someone who had the patience to teach an adult beginner who was used to being an instructor himself. It took me a week of calling around o my equestrian friends but soon enough I found her - my best childhood instructor Barbara Rosoff. Barbara taught me how to ride with discipline, skill, compassion, and above all safety when I was a child. I remembered her fondly as a teacher who was strict but who also had heart. Barbara began teaching my husband private riding lessons in September of 2005. By September 2006 my husband, through dedication and attentiveness became a well-rounded equestrian. Barbara is without question the best in her field. Nicole Drumheller Gargus, MFA - Bryn Mawr, Pa.
I have taken riding lessons with Barbara for many years, and decided to enroll in one of her workshops. In addition to being fun and interesting, the things I learned were utilized in the following lessson, and helped me to better understand the animal working with me. I gained confidence, control, and respect with the horse, and interpreted he horse's actions quickly for a successful ride. Alison Walsh
